Great blue heron (Ardea herodias), carrying small branch, steps awkwardly to lower branch in order to pass small branch to his mate who will use it to reinforce their nest. Great blue herons live in colonies and often build their nests in sycamore trees 15 - 25 meters above the ground surrounded by water. This species has a wingspan exceeding two meters and is found in many areas of North and Central America. | |
