View of support beam holes and possible storage niches at Montezuma Castle, a Native American ruin in the American Southwest. The structure was built and used by the Sinagua people and dates back as far as 1100 A.D. It is situated about 30 metres up a sheer limestone cliff in central Arizona. The Castle housed as many as 50 people in at least 20 separate rooms on five levels and was abandoned about 1425. | |
