Fish treatment. Doctor fish (Garra rufa) nibble on the dead skin of person's feet submerged in water tank. These freshwater fish originate in Turkey, where they ve been used for over 100 years to treat serious skin conditions such as psoriasis. Over the years, the doctor fish treatment has become increasingly popular in spa and beauty salons around the world, including Thailand. In recent years, however, this fish treatment has become somewhat controversial due to increasing concern about risk of infection. This resulted in 14 US states banning fish spas. The clip shows fish feeding on the feet of an Asian woman. Filmed in Chiang Mai, Thailand. | |
