Close-up timelapse footage of copper metal forming after being displaced from a solution of copper sulfate. A strip of zinc metal was added to the solution, which displaced the copper and bonded to the sulphate ions. The copper then precipitated from solution, growing to form a skin on the zinc, which sloughs off periodically. The first part of this clip is at double speed, the second part has been sped up ten times. | |
