| Corneal dystrophy recurrence on graft. Close-up of the left eye of a patient with corneal dystrophy that has recurred on a corneal graft. Corneal dystrophy is a genetic disorder affecting the cornea, the transparent front part of the eye. The condition is caused by impaired nourishment to the cornea, and an accumulation of foreign material forming one or multiple layers over the front of the eye. Over time, vision may become impaired (cloudy or blurry). A corneal graft (corneal transplant, or keratoplasty) is used to replace a damaged cornea with healthy donor tissue. | |
