| Frontal fibrosing alopecia affecting a female patient. This is a form of scarring hair loss along the hairline at the front of the scalp caused by inflammation and destruction of the hair follicles. The hair loss may be accompanied by red, flaky skin that can painful or itchy. Loss of hairs from the eyebrows is often also seen, and the hair loss may extend to other parts of the body. There is no cure, but hair loss may be slowed by steroids or anti-inflammatory antibiotics. | |
