The Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island in New York harbour, New York, USA, viewed from the island ferry. The 46m copper statue was designed by French sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi and its metal framework was built by Gustave Eiffel. The statue was a gift from the people of France to the people of the United States and was delivered in 1885; it was unveiled the following year. | |
