Coloured magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) mid-sagittal scan of the brain of a 77-year-old male patient with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), also known as Steele-Richardson-Olszewski disease. The scan shows atrophy of the midbrain, dilation of the aqueduct of Sylvius and atrophy of the quadrigeminal tubercles (tectum). PSP is a neurological disease that causes problems with swallowing, balance, movement and speech. | |
