Leaf-nosed bat (Macrotus waterhousii) in flight with a moth in its mouth. This bat inhabits southern North America and Central America, including some Caribbean islands. It feeds on insects, which it catches in flight or from the ground. It is nocturnal, spending the day in a cave before emerging after sunset to hunt. It may reach a length of around seven centimetres. | |
