TESS (Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite) image mosaics of the Milky Way in southern (left) and northern (right) hemispheres' skies. The mission divided each hemisphere's sky into 13 sectors, each of which was imaged for nearly a month by the spacecraft's four cameras. The prominent dark lines are gaps between the detectors in TESS's camera system. The southern hemisphere data was obtained during TESS's first year of science operations, and completed in July 20919. The northern hemisphere data was obtained during the second year of science operations, and completed in July 2020. | |
