From a distance, Saturn's rings resemble a disk of solid matter. In fact, they are made of many blocks of ice and dust that orbit the planet in a disorganized way. Pictures taken by the Voyager probes have revealed that there are thousands of rings with an extraordinarily complex structure. They are divided into seven main sections, from A to G. The Cassini and Encke divisions are the dark areas within the rings. | |
