Model of a space station designed by the Soviet physicist and rocket pioneer Konstantin Tsiolkovsky (1857-1935). Tsiolkovsky was a pioneer of aviation and aerospace design. One of the first to use open-section wind tunnels, he laid many of the foundations of modern aerodynamics. He is best known for his visionary work on the problems of space travel.
