Perseverance rover (right) and the Ingenuity helicopter (centre) on Mars. Perseverance and Ingenuity were carried to Mars aboard the Mars 2020 spacecraft, which launched from Earth on 30th July 2020. They successfully touched down in Jezero Crater on 18th February 2021. Perseverance will study the geology of Mars and search for signs of life. Ingenuity is a technology demonstration to test the first powered flight on Mars.
