Brimstone moth (Opisthograptis luteolata) resting on a blade of grass in a garden habitat. The flight period is April to October with overlapping generations each year. This species is a member of the Geometridae family and is found throughout the UK, Europe and the Palearctic ecozone. Their larval foodplants include hawthorn (Crataegus sp.) and blackthorn (Prunus spinosa) trees. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in May. | |
