Zeophyllite is a secondary mineral formed by hydrothermal alteration of basalt. It is a basic silicate and fluoride of calcium (Ca4Si3O7(OH)4F2) that may contain iron. Crystal system is trigonal-rhombohedral and often occurs as pearly white radially crystalline spheroids inside voids in basalt, as seen in this sample from Litomerice in Bohemia, Czech Republic. | |
