Agriculture in Ancient Egyptian tomb scene. Illustration of a scene on the wall of a tomb in Ancient Egypt,dating from the 2nd millennium BC. The scene shows the inhabitants of the tomb (Sennedjem and Iineferti) in the afterlife in the Fields of Iaru. This scene illustrates spell number 110 in the Egyptian Book of the Dead. Sennedjem and his wife Iineferti are harvesting grain,sowing seeds,and pulling flax. Found on the east wall of their tomb,this artwork dates from New Kingdom (Dynasty 19) in the reign of Ramesses I or Ramesses II,in the period around 1295 to 1213 BC. This tomb is in Deir el-Medina,Thebes,Upper Egypt. This illustration (tempera on paper) was produced by Egyptologist Charles K.
