MODEL RELEASED. Hypertrophic scarring after surgical excisions from the skin of an 80-year-old man. This scarring resulted from the excision of a keloid scar that had formed after the surgical excision of a basal cell carcinoma, a form of skin cancer. A keloid scar consists of a mass of collagen fibres, forming as a result of a defective healing process. | |
