SpaceX Demonstration Mission 1 (SpX-DM1) pre-launch checks at Kennedy Space Center,Florida,USA. This is a static firing of the Falcon rocket's nine engines. SpX-DM1 will be the first orbital test of the Dragon 2 spacecraft,scheduled for launch on March 2,2019. Dragon 2 is a class of reusable spacecraft in development by American aerospace manufacturer SpaceX,designed as the successor to the Dragon cargo spacecraft. It will be launched on a Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket. The spacecraft will test the approach and automated docking procedures with the International Space Station (ISS),remain docked for a few weeks,then conduct re-entry,splashdown and recovery steps to test the craft for flights transporting humans to the ISS.
