Illustration of changes in the Martian surface. These drawing of Mars were made by the French astronomer A. Danjon of the Strasbourg Observatory, France. The left illustration was made on 22th August 1924, the right one on 15th November 1926. Great changes could be observed in the centre, the Lacus Solis, but also in the South Polar region. In this view south is at top, as viewed in the telescope. | |
