Skeleton shrimp. Group of skeleton shrimp (Caprella sp.) waiting to catch their prey. Skeleton shrimp mimic the colour and shape of the fronds of seaweed, hydroids and bryozoans amongst which they live. They use this camouflage to help ambush their prey, remaining motionless for long periods of time. Photographed in the Sea of Japan. | |
