Stroke and intracerebral haemorrhage. Axial computed tomography (CT) scan through the brain of a 60-year-old man who has bleeding in the brain (an intracerebral haemorrhage) due to a cerebravascular accident (CVA, stroke). The resulting mass of blood is seen at upper right (white area). The blood is in the brain's left hemisphere, at the level of the external capsule, putamen and pallidum. Blood has entered the brain's lateral ventricles, as well as the third ventricle. This is classified as a haemorrhagic stroke. | |
