Osteomyelitis in the lower leg. X-rays of the lower right leg of an 18-year-old boy with osteomyelitis (bacterial infection of the bone) of the shaft of the tibia, the thicker of the two lower leg bones. At left is the side (lateral) view. At right is the frontal (anterior) view. The diagnosis is osteomyelitis sequelae, together with a fibrocartilage callus, a condition that is typically seen where a bone is in the process of healing, here due to an earlier fracture of the bone.
