Conjunctival oedema due to allergy in the eye of a 57-year-old woman. This swelling, also known as chemosis, is affecting the conjunctiva membrane covering the front of the eye. Chemosis is usually a non-specific sign of eye irritation, in this case producing oedema (fluid) under the conjunctiva. The cause here is an unknown allergy. | |
