MODEL RELEASED. Periorbital cellulitis on the upper eyelid of the right eye of a 7-year-old girl. This is a bacterial infection of the skin around the eyes and eyelids and the underlying tissues. It is often due to an infection by Streptococcus bacteria. Cellulitis may cause a fever and chills, and, if left untreated, may result in septicaemia (blood poisoning) or gangrene. It is usually treated with antibiotic drugs. | |
