Man using two sheets of paper to project a pinhole image of a solar eclipse. Viewing a solar eclipse with the naked eye can cause eye damage or even blindness. This eclipse occurred on August 21, 2017 and was known as The Great American Eclipse. The path of totality for this eclipse travelled across 14 states, from Oregon to South Carolina, and was viewed by millions. This photo was taken in New York which only experienced a partial eclipse of about 75% coverage at maximum. | |
