Milky Way over Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, USA. The Milky Way (far left) is our galaxy seen from the inside, forming a band of stars and nebulae stretching across the sky. This section is in the constellations of Scorpius and Sagittarius. This view looks south towards the lights of the town of Jackson Hole. At centre, over the mountains, is the bright star Arcturus, with the Big Dipper asterism in Ursa Major at right. The Teton Range is part of the Rocky Mountains. The Grand Teton, the tallest mountain in the range, has a summit elevation of 4199 metres. Photographed on 19 August 2017. | |
