BepiColombo spacecraft solar panels test before launch. BepiColombo's 7.5-metre-long solar wing fully extended during deployment testing at the Guiana Space Centre, French Guiana, from where the spacecraft will be launched. BepiColombo is a joint mission of the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) to explore Mercury. Scheduled for launch in October 2018, it will arrive at Mercury in 2025. it has three components: ESA's Mercury Transfer Module (MTM), ESA's Mercury Planetary Orbiter (MPO) and JAXA's Mercury Magnetospheric Orbiter (MMO).
