Magnificent frigate bird (Fregata magnificens) mothers and chicks in their nests. This large seabird lays a single egg, with both sexes incubating it. After hatching, the mother raises the chick while the father abandons the nest. This seabird lives in equatorial waters, feeding mainly on fish using its sharp and hooked beak. It is the largest of the frigatebirds, reaching a wingspan of 215 centimetres. Photographed in Baja California, Mexico. | |
