St Paul's Island. Aerial view of St Paul's Island (Selmunett) in the Mediterranean Sea, Malta. The Acts of the Apostles from the New Testament of the Christian Bible, tell the story of how Paul the Apostle (Saint Paul) was shipwrecked on an island that some scholars believe to be Malta, on his way to Rome to face charges. Tradition says that St. Paul's Bay and St Paul's Island were the location for this shipwreck. The island has been uninhabited since World War II, and is the second largest uninhabited island of Malta. | |
