Secondary lung cancer. X-ray of the lungs of a 57-year-old woman with metastatic (secondary) lung cancer that has spread from a primary breast cancer. The secondary cancers are shown by the presence of numerous diffuse patches in the lungs. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. Symptoms include painless lumps in the breast, a dark discharge from the nipple, and an indentation of the nipple. Early diagnosis can be made by mammography or self-examination. Once a cancer has spread, the prognosis is poor. | |
