Brain ventricle anomaly. Coloured axial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan of the brain of a 5-day-old baby neonate (newborn baby). The presence of a hypersignal (centre) between the septum pellucidum areas of the brain ventricles indicates a minor brain ventricle anomaly. Known as a cavum vergae, this is a rare birth anomaly that is considered an anatomically normal variant. This is a T2-weighted MRI scan. | |
