Richard Feynman's post-Nobel lecture at CERN, 1965. US theoretical physicist Richard Feynman (1918-1988) giving a lecture at CERN, the European particle physics laboratory, soon after receiving his Nobel Prize. Feynman was awarded a share of the 1965 Nobel Prize in Physics for his work in the late 1940s developing the theory of quantum electrodynamics, the quantum mechanical view of the interaction of particles subject to the electromagnetic force. Feynman was a popular lecturer and a renowned entertainer. Following the Nobel ceremony in Stockholm a week earlier on 10 December, Feynman gave this colloquium at CERN on 17 December 1965, titled 'Development of the space-time view of quantum electrodynamics'. | |
