Test animals after 1946 atomic bomb test. US Navy seaman apprentices holding a pig and a goat that were present at the Bikini atomic bomb tests in July 1946. There were two tests, Able and Baker, with some animals that were exposed dying of radiation exposure within a few days. Other animals were less exposed and the effects on them were studied over a longer period. These animals are arriving at Washington Navy Yard, Washington DC, USA, on board the animal laboratory ship USS Burleson (APA-67) on 30 September 1946.
