Ornithocheirus pterosaur, illustration. Ornithocheirus was a flying reptile that lived 112-108 million years ago, during the Cretaceous. It had a six metre wingspan. It is shown at lower left on the ground, feeding its young and using its wings as a pair of front legs. Pterosaurs flew with wings formed from a membranous structure stretched between the ankles and a lengthened finger. | |
