American Airlines Flight 11 (red) and United Airlines Flight 175 (purple) were both Boeing 767 aircraft that departed from Logan Airport in Boston at 07:59 and 08:14 local time. They impacted the North Tower (08:46) and South Tower (09:03) respectively (the Twin Towers) of the World Trade Center in New York City. These towers later collapsed. American Airlines Flight 77 (orange) was a Boeing 757 that departed from Washington Dulles International Airport at 08:20, and was flown into the Pentagon near Washington DC at 09:37. United Airlines Flight 93 (green) was a Boeing 757 that departed from Newark International Airport at 08:42, crashing into a field in Pennsylvania at 10:03. A total of 2996 people were killed in the attacks. | |
