Little tern eggs. Three eggs laid by a little tern (Sternula albifrons). This seabird breeds in coastal areas and waterways in temperate and tropical regions of Europe and Asia. It lays two to four eggs directly on the ground. These eggs have been laid on an exposed area of beach, and the eggs and the mother will be be moved to an electric fence enclosure to protect them from predators such as foxes as part of animal conservation work in the area. Photographed in June 2016, in Denbighshire, Wales. | |
