Nauplius. Polarised light micrograph of a nauplius, the larval stage of a copepod crustacean. The antennae protruding from its head are used for swimming. The nauplius has a simple, unpaired eye (red) that it uses to move in and out of sunlight. The eye will be lost as the larva develops. | |
