In xanthelasma, fatty deposits of yellowish cholesterol collect beneath the skin, and are a symptom of a high blood cholesterol. Rhinoscleroma is caused by infection with the bacterium Klebsiella rhinoscleromatis, which causes deformity and tissue destruction in the nasal area.
