Loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta) with attached remora fish. This turtle is found throughout the world in semi-tropical and tropical seas. It swims using its powerful front flippers, the rear pair being used only for steering. It feeds on crustaceans, jellyfish and occasionally fish and plants. The remora is a fish which attaches itself to turtles and larger fish with a sucker, which is a modified dorsal fin. It feeds on scraps discarded by its host. It does not harm its host in any way.
