Northern glass frog. Underside of the northern glass frog (Hyalinobatrachium fleishmanni). Glass frogs are named for their often translucent skin that reveals the internal organs (as seen here). This view also shows the reduced amount of foot webbing that allows the toes to spread out for a better grip. The toe pads act like suction pads,helping it grip leaves and twigs in its arboreal (tree) habitat. Glass frogs are found in northern South America and in Central America,and are 2-3 centimetres long. Frogs are carnivores,usually eating insects & other small animals.
