Wolf-eel (Anarrhichthys ocellatus) with its mouth open,revealing some of its teeth. The wolf-eel can grow up to 250 centimetres in length,weigh up to 18 kilograms and dive to depths of over 220 metres. It inhabits rocky crevices,in subtidal areas,feeding on hard-shelled invertebrates and smaller fish. Wolf-eels that are disturbed by divers have been known to inflict a painful bite.
