Colorado potato beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata) larva on a leaf. This agricultural pest hatches from an egg laid on the underside of a leaf. An individual larva can consume 40 square centimetres of plant material a day. When mature,this larva will metamorphose into an adult beetle.
