Typhoon fighter plane in flight. The Eurofighter Typhoon has been developed as the most advanced fighter jet in the world. It is an aerodynamically unstable aircraft that is flown by a computerised flight control system. This allows great agility and a great degree of automation. Its two Eurojet EJ200 turbofan engines fly it at speeds of up to Mach 2. It is designed for many different weapons configurations. The Eurofighter is a joint project between the UK,Germany,Italy, and Spain. It began in 1994. The first Eurofighter Typhoons are scheduled to enter service in 2003.
