This amateur telescope photograph of the southern part of the moon is centre on the dark flat region of the Mare Nubium,with a line of distinctive impact craters running north-south to the east (right) of it. The most northern of the line of larger craters is Ptolemy,with the small dark spot of Herschel just above it.
