MODEL RELEASED. Iris scanning. Woman has her eyes scanned using Iriscan technology while withdrawing money from a bank ATM cash dispenser. Iriscan is a computer recognition system of the eye iris. Each person's iris is unique. Infrared illuminators and a scanning camera above the ATM machine images the iris in seconds as the woman looks at a yellow spot. A computer divides the iris into 8 concen- tric circles to recognise unique iris features even when glasses or contact lenses are worn. The iris is then compared against an iris database in under 3 seconds, forming a powerful identification system. IriScan was developed by Dr John Daugman of Cambridge University,England | |
