Ancient Egyptian gods,tomb of Queen Nefertari,Egypt. The deities shown (from left to right) are Horus,and three of his four sons,Duamutef,Qebehsenuef and Hapi. In Egyptian mythology,the sons of Horus represent the four canopic jars that contain the embalmed organs of the deceased. Queen Nefertari lived around 1300-1255 BC and was the first wife of the Egyptian pharaoh Ramses II. Her tomb was rediscovered in 1904 by the Italian archaeologist Ernesto Schiaparelli. It is located in the Valley of the Queens,near the ancient city of Thebes,Egypt and is considered the best preserved and most ornate of all known tombs.
