Vultures on a cactus. Turkey vultures perched on a cardon cactus (Pachycereus pringlei) where it has built its nest. This vulture lives throughout North and South America, and mostly feeds on carrion. It spends most of the day soaring and circling in the air,and locates its food by its excellent sense of smell. It can grow to a length of around 70 centimetres.
