In December 1990,the world's first World Wide Web (WWW) server ran on a NeXT computer powered by this motherboard. It was located at CERN,the European centre for particle physics near Geneva,Switzerland. The machine was set up by Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau. Their invention, originally to improve data communication between particle physicists, made the World Wide Web possible.
