This is one of a series of maps used by German Luftwaffe bomber pilots during night raids over the UK. The bright colours aided visibility at night. Docks (outlined in red) were the target. Just right of centre,a yellow circle marked 'Achtung' warns of an internment camp. A key across bottom identifies the map features in German: eisenbahnen (railway),hauptstrassen und orte (main roads and locations),walder (woods),landschaft (countryside),ziele (target),and kartenmitte (centre of the map)
