MODEL RELEASED. Sperm whale skeleton preparation. Forklift truck transporting a sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus) skeleton. The bones have been soaking in a tank of water for over a month as part of the process to remove tissue from the bone. They are being moved to an area where they can be washed under high pressure jet spray. This whale was found stranded on Henne Strand,Jutland,Denmark. It measured 14 meters in length and weighed an estimated 30 tonnes. The skeleton will be cleaned and re-assembled for display at the Zoological Museum in Copenhagen | |
